Company
We can be reached, via telephone, week days between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm EST. Email is available 24/7.
PSi was established in 1993.
At PSi, we genuinely care about the quality of every finished product that leaves our facility.
Our turnaround times, on 75% of our work, is 48 hours. If a job is larger or more intricate, it will require more time. Our customers always know how long their job takes to produce.
File Preparation
We accept QuarkXPress, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Adobe Acrobat (PDF).
Determining whether or not your files are the correct resolution can be summed up by looking at two things: Size (inches) and dots per inch (dpi). For general purposes, images at 150 dpi will look fine if they are printed at 100% scale or less. If you have stretched or expanded your image in the layout, then you will need to use higher resolution images. The rule of thumb is, your final resolution is always a fraction of the amount you stretch an image. For instance, a 300 dpi image that is stretched to 200% ends up at 150 dpi, and so on.
*Special note about images obtained off the internet: Unless they are from a stock photography website, most images downloaded from the web are usually only 72 dpi and not suitable for printing purposes.
Fonts are the responsibility of the customer. They need to be provided when the art files are submitted for print. Please call if you have any additional questions or problems with fonts.
We can make corrections. Depending on the complexity of the corrections, we would discuss additional charges at the time of the correction.
RGB stands for Red, Green, Blue – which is optical light (TV screen, computer monitor, digital cameras). This is not the preferred color mode for printing, but most printing devices will do a pretty good job of interpolating.
CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. “K” is used for black so as not to be confused with blue. This is reflective light, or the way light is reflected off of surfaces from a light source. An example is all printed materials. This is the preferred color mode for any color printing device.
If desired, minor alterations can be made by a PSi staff member, provided native files have been submitted. Major alterations should be done by the person who created the file(s) and resubmitted for a new proof. Depending on the complexity of the changes, you may be charged for in-house alterations and/or additional proof(s).
We accept modern media formats such as USB Flash drives, Data DVD or CD. Please, no floppy disks! 😉
As files can be rather large, we discourage email transfer. A preferred method of transfer would be via shared DropBox or Google Drive folder or file.
If you have any questions, please call.
Billing and Payment
You will not be billed for seeing a proof. If you want a production sample, we would only ask to ship it to you using your shipper number.
Quotes are normally sent to customers in less than 24 hours. If the job is very intricate, we will let you know if it takes longer to quote.
Policies
A job can be cancelled in progress by calling and speaking with us. You will be billed for what has been produced up until the time of your call.
We guarantee all of our work. If a customer wishes to return their printed material, we would rather reproduce it, and have the customer satisfied.
We generally keep graphic files for 5 years.
PSi can print just about anything that is within the parameters of our machinery.
Your files can be returned via email or disk.
Alterations must be completed before the job begins being printed. If alterations are made, after production starts, you will be billed for what has been completed.
